Terms and Conditions

The CRANE Radiators Ltd website is for information and guidance on the products of CRANE Radiators Ltd. We may offer advice and guidance wherever we can and our primary goal is to make sure that you are totally happy with your CRANE Cast Iron Radiators. It is not possible to order directly from CRANE Radiators Ltd.

If you would like to view any radiators before your purchase you should either contact us to direct you to a local stockist or identify your local stockist.

All CRANE Cast Iron Radiators will be individually assembled by hand in the UK and finished to your requirements. All our castings have a 100 year guarantee and are built and tested in accordance with BS EN442-1 and BS EN442-2.

Legal Information

UK Law - These terms and conditions and any contract formed are subject to the laws of England and Wales and shall be dealt with under the England and Wales legal system only. In these Terms and Conditions the term ‘the Company’ means ‘CRANE RADIATORS Ltd’ a company registered in England number 08804091. ‘Purchaser’ refers to the purchaser of any goods or services and the term ‘goods’ refers to any item sold by the company. Nothing herein referred to shall be deemed to have construed a relationship with any supplier or purchaser of the Company’s products or services without the express written permission of ‘CRANE RADIATORS Ltd’.

Copyright - All text, graphics, formatting or other materials present on the Company’s web site or in the Company’s printed material shall remain the property of the Company. Any use of the Company’s materials without written permission of ‘CRANE RADIATORS Ltd’ is prohibited.

Web Site - By using the Company’s web site you agree to our terms and conditions.

Security - The Company endeavours at all times to adhere to best practice in respect of security. The Company bears no responsibility for any security breaches howsoever caused; however, it will act to the best of its ability to see that such breaches do not occur and to remedy such a breach in the unlikely event of it occurring.

Privacy - We are committed to acting in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

CRANE Cast Iron Radiator installation guidelines:

All bush ends/caps will only be hand tight to allow customers to interchange if on a gravity fed heating system & will need fitting correctly when installed with PTFE etc. All Valves & air vents/bleed valves to be fitted with PTFE tape. No caustic/corrosive/acidic plumbing compounds or liquids should be used on or in any part of CRANE cast iron radiators, our valves or connections including aggressive flushing agents.

If required, the system should be flushed with clean water only. It is essential that the water in the system must be neutralized correctly following the use of any compounds. If caustic and / or corrosive compounds (liquid or other) have been introduced into the system resulting in subsequent damage to seals/gaskets, any guarantee offered will be invalid.

Your post sales point of contact should be your retailer who will have direct contact details at CRANE Radiators Ltd with the correct department if you have any further questions.

Measurements

Although we provide section measurements on our website these should only be taken as a guide, each individual section is cast by hand so minor differences are to be expected.

Please note that all lead times are approximate and we advise all customers to wait until you have received your order before booking any installation works etc.

Guarantee

CRANE Radiators Ltd guarantee our cast iron radiators for 100 years from the date of delivery. The Company will replace any goods found faulty due to manufacturing or workmanship, free of charge within this period, subject to the following exceptions:

  • If the defect arises as a result of fair wilful damage, miscarriage, negligence, mishandling, inadequate installation, misuse, abnormal working conditions, failure due to incorrect installation or failure to follow our oral or written instructions.
  • If the Buyer alters or repairs such Products without our written consent;
  • The Buyer has not paid the Contract price for the Products by the Payment date.

Defective goods will be repaired or replaced subject to the following conditions:

  • The Buyer provides proof of purchase & written notice of the defect immediately;
  • The Company reserves the right to change only the individual defective section of a cast iron radiator;
  • Consequential loss – the Company is not liable for any consequential loss caused directly or indirectly by any defect in its goods including any costs of labour incurred by the purchaser;
  • The benefit of this warranty is given to the first retail purchaser of the goods and is not assignable.


Returns Policy

If you are in anyway dissatisfied with any items you have received, you can return them to us within 30 days for either an exchange or refund (excluding original shipping fee) subject to the following conditions:

  • All goods (excluding radiators) to be return to us using a recorded pallet delivery, at your own cost to an address supplied in writing by your retailer.
  • Returns MUST be in their original packaging with all parts included & not used & in an 'As New' re-saleable condition.
  • If the return is due to a change of mind or an error when ordering then a re-stocking fee of 20% will be charged & deducted from your refund.
  • These conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

Your retailer will not be held liable for any costs incurred as a result of any delay in delivery. We would always recommend that the final pipe work is fitted after you have taken delivery of your radiators.

CRANE Cast Iron Radiators are a 'bespoke' item, this means that all radiators are built specifically to your requirements.

Your retailer will provide you with an indication of the delivery date in advance, this will only be an approximate date based on current workloads. A confirmed date will be provided once your radiators have been assembled and finished.

Shipping/Pallet Conditions of Service

As cast iron radiators are very heavy objects we will ship them using a pallet distribution service. Your order will be delivered on a lorry. If you have any access restrictions at your property please notify your retailer in advance as failed deliveries are subject to a redelivery charge. There will be a manually operated pallet truck onboard the delivery lorry, this will enable to driver to get the pallet as close to your property as possible but these can only be used on hard, flat ground such as tarmac. Pallet trucks do not work on lawns or gravel etc.

Please ensure that you have arranged for enough people to be available to carry the radiator(s) into your property. This will require at least two people but you will need more than two people for big radiators. If you are in any doubt please contact your retailer. The delivery driver is not insured to and will not under any circumstances carry your cast iron radiators into your property.

The Purchaser must provide a valid contact telephone number with voicemail for all delivery methods to be booked.

Acceptance of Deliveries - Please ensure that goods are unpacked when they are delivered and check them against the delivery note/receipt. Any damage must be reported immediately & noted on delivery documentation. The Company cannot be held responsible for any damage occurring after delivery.

Force Majeure - No responsibility can be accepted by the Company for any failure or delay in performance which is wholly or partially due to an Act of God, War, Fire, Explosion, Riot, Civil Commotion, Restriction by Government or other competent authority, Strikes, Lock Outs, Failure in Supplies, or to any cause whatsoever beyond its control.
